I Saw The Negative Schumer Reviews...

I thought there was a lot of hate for Schumer, whom I'm not really a fan of in general. I thought her show had funny moments and so I ignored the reviews I read dumping on her - but they were accurate. This could have been a really good movie but casting her? It's an utter mystery why she was cast in the first place and why she wasn't replaced. If I, or any of the people reviewing this movie can plainly see that the movie is being ruined - why not cut your losses instead of plowing through with such lesser talent. The sad thing is, this will continue.

The plot and writing are surprisingly original for this day and age, given that all we seem to get are re-boots/re-duxes/re-imaginings/sequels and prequels now. And that's what makes it so frustrating - this could have been good but instead was a big challenge to get through it.

Amy Schumer ruins the movie.

I was excited to see this as I had seen the play and knowing Richard Jenkins was cast made my mouth water with excitement. But the scenes with Amy Schumer literally ruined the film. Her acting is stiff and unnatural in this. A woman's pregnancy is a beautiful thing, but it surely didn't fit Schumer's character, Aimee. It made zero sense. What was the filmmaker thinking? The other actors were superb and the story somewhat relatable. I highly doubt this will see a theatrical release. Perhaps they can show it on The Food Network.

Amy Schumer ruined the film.

Richard Jenkins is never bad in anything, he's brilliant. Which is why I'm so dumbfounded that Amy Schumer was cast in this. She's got to be the most annoying performer in play today. In addition, and I hope this doesn't sound mean, but she looks like she ate for the entire cast and crew. No self-discipline in her acting or her food intake. It's sooo distracting. The rest of the cast does a fine job and the story, although told many times before, is sorta' relatable. I highly doubt this gets a theatrical release. Maybe it will air on The Food Network.
